Online sportsbooks in Wisconsin

The law is signed. The statewide app is not open. Until it is, a Milwaukee phone is not a legal sportsbook.

Snapshot · 18 October 2026

What the statute did

On 9 April 2026 Governor Tony Evers signed Assembly Bill 601. It authorizes online sports betting run by tribes, on a hub-and-spoke model: the systems that take the bet sit on tribal land. A tribe still has to amend its gaming compact, and that amendment has to clear the required review, before an app can take a legal bet off the casino floor.

The law, 2025 Wisconsin Act 247, is being challenged in Waukesha County Circuit Court by the Brown County Taxpayers Association, which argues that it violates the state constitution. The state has defended the law, eight tribes have asked the court to dismiss the case, and the next court date is 9 November 2026.

What you can do on this date

As of 18 October 2026, no statewide legal mobile sportsbook is live. Negotiations are the gate, not a download button. An app that only works inside a tribe's own geofence is a different, narrower product than a Wisconsin-wide book.

This page does not list unlicensed offshore sites. They are not Wisconsin-licensed books, and a guide that ranks them would be pretending they are.

Familiar names

Five names people already ask about are below, in alphabetical order, so the sequence is not a ranking. There are no prices and no bonus codes. None of them is a live statewide Wisconsin sportsbook on this date. This set is not a roster, and it is not an offshore list.

Where a legal bet still is

In person, on tribal property, at the casino's age limit (18 or 21). In Milwaukee that means Potawatomi. When a compact process produces an app Milwaukee can actually use, this page should say so — and the date at the top should move with the sentence.
